About

I have spent my entire professional career working as a Marine Biologist for the United States Government, the majority of those years working at the National Headquarters of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Silver Spring, Maryland. My main areas of expertise are (1) marine fisheries science as it contributes to fisheries policy and management; and (2) the use of marine protected areas (MPAs) and marine spatial planning (MSP) as tools to achieve marine conservation goals and to monitor and predict the ecological response of marine organisms (particularly fish) to these regulatory tools.
